My Book Reviews

Here are some of my book reviews. I hope you enjoy them! I highly recommend that you buy books from independent bookstores instead of large corporations like Amazon or Barnes & Noble, so I have included links on each book to order from a local San Diego indie bookstore. Can We All Be Feminists?

June Eric-Udorie

Publish Date: 9/25/2018
ISBN: 9780143132370

This is a really interesting collection of essays that discuss the intersectionality of feminism with other issues like racism, poverty, LGBTQIA+ issues, and more. I learned a lot about what I can do to support the feminist movement and how feminism has to be an intersectional movement that helps the most disadvantaged. I highly recommend everyone reads!

Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose

Joe Biden

Publish Date: 11/14/2017

This is a book I recommend you read with a box of Kleenex as you will cry many times throughout the book. It is a heart wrenching account of Beau Biden's fight with cancer and the struggle that Biden family faced coping with his loss. Biden's book displays his commitment to both his family and his country as a lifelong public servant. He is a selfless man that focuses on helping and comforting others before himself despite his loss.

Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI

Author

The was a very well written, informative read about the origins of the FBI. It detailed the continuous injustices Native Americans faced and continue to face. This is one of those non-fiction books that reads just as fast as a fiction novel.
